Talking to the Media About Tobacco in San Antonio - August 2009

Texas Teen Tobacco Summit & Comprehensive Tobacco Prevention Conference (The Woodland, Texas) 

                                                

 

San Antonio Tobacco Prevention and Control Coalition at the Texas Teen Tobacco Summit & Comprehensive Tobacco Prevention Conference at The Woodland, Texas, July 26 to 29, 2009. The coalition sponsored 36 community youth from SACADA's HYPE group and San Antonio community centers. The conference was hosted by the Center for Safe Communities and Schools and the Texas Department of State Health Services.

 

 

 

                                              

 

 

Outside Classroom Days (Fiesta Texas)

                                             

 

 

American Cancer Society, Metro Health, and San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse represented San Antonio Tobacco Prevention and Control Coalition at Fiesta Texas Outside Classroom days, Friday May 8 & 15, 2009, 9:00am - 3:00pm.  The event consisted of thousands of middle and high school youth from schools around Texas who visited Fiesta Texas on field trip those two days. We offered participants a chance to sign the tobacco free pledge, play the Smokers Lung capacity activity, or gain knowledge of tobacco health effects through educational models.
